How to start branding
We are living in a world where tools like Canva and AI make design more accessible than ever. This is beautiful, but it also creates a new challenge:
It is very easy for spiritual business owners and conscious entrepreneurs to end up looking like everyone else.
So the real question becomes:
How do you actually start branding in a way that feels aligned, clear, and truly yours?
Let’s explore this together.
Branding is not just beautiful visuals
It is not only your logo, fonts, or website.
Many conscious entrepreneurs and women-led businesses believe branding is something they can do on their own.
And yes—in many ways, you can.
I’ve worked with many female entrepreneurs who have a strong intuitive sense of design but they still say the same thing:
—“Something just doesn’t feel quite right.”
Your brand becomes the first point of connection with your audience and the biggest mistake is starting with visuals before clarity.
Because without clarity, even the most beautiful brand identity will feel disconnected.
Branding begins much deeper—with inner alignment.
Top 5 things to consider before start branding
(Especially if you are a conscious entrepreneur or female-led business owner)
Before you choose fonts, colours, or invest in web design for your conscious business, pause.
If your brand feels unclear, ungrounded, or hard to express these signs will feel familiar:
If someone asks, “What do you do?” and your answer is unclear or constantly changing—this is a sign—You do not have to have a label that summarises it all, believe me I don’t have it but it needs to feel natural to share it.
Many spiritual and conscious entrepreneurs experience this at the beginning. Because simply you don’t only do one thing like a lawyer, nurse or gardener, but your offerings may be a reflection of your own path, experience and skills, so it’s unique to you. (Which is actually your strength by the way).
It doesn’t mean you are not ready for branding. It means your message is still ‘incubating’.
And before any brand identity is designed, the message needs clarity first.
If you are in a transition phase—personally or in your business—it is natural for things to feel unclear.
Many spiritual entrepreneurs and wellness practitioners rush into branding because they want to “launch” quickly.
But branding works best when it is not rushed. Like a tree, your brand needs roots before it grows, without grounding, even the best website will feel unstable.
One day you love minimal, clean branding.
The next you are drawn to earthy, mystical, spiritual visuals. Then suddenly bold or colourful aesthetics feel great.
This is common for conscious entrepreneurs and female entrepreneurs exploring identity but without clarity, design becomes inconsistent and visually fragmented.
Clarity and focus is what grounds your visual direction.
This is very common for conscious entrepreneurs who have evolved and transform quickly.
Your current visuals may no longer reflect who you are becoming. But you may also not yet know what comes next. This is not a design problem—it is a clarity phase.
Ask yourself:
Who am I now as a healer, coach or entrepreneur?
What energy do I want my brand to hold?
What is evolving in my work?
This is where brand identity begins to shift.
This is the biggest sign!
If you are not excited to work on your offerings and share your brand, your audience will feel it.
This is especially true for spiritual business owners and conscious entrepreneurs whose work is deeply energetic.
If you are forcing content, hiding your offers, or doubting your visuals, your brand is asking for alignment, not to push or more effort.
A strong brand should feel like an extension of you.
Not a mask.
So where do you actually start?
Before Canva. Before design. Before investing in web design start with clarity and clarity comes with foundations: strategy.
Because branding for conscious entrepreneurs always begins inward—not outward.
Your brand already exists in essence. The work is simply to bring it into form and I can support you with that. You can start with a simple brand audit to have an understanding about how is it going for you.
What brand strategy really is
If you’ve ever wondered what happens before a logo or website is designed, the answer is simple:
But for conscious entrepreneurs, spiritual businesses, and wellness brands, brand strategy is not a linear or rigid process—It is a grounding process. It is what transforms intuition into direction.
It is the foundation of effective communication: call it web design, an e-book or social media carrousel.
My brand strategy process summary
Here is how I guide clients through the beginning of their branding journey.
1. The initial consultation
We begin with a conversation.
I want to understand not just what you offer, but why you are here as a conscious entrepreneur, your expectations, and the why behind.
Whether you are building a wellness brand, a coaching practice, or a spiritual business, this first small step is a portal for co-creation.
2. The strategy workbook
If you say yes to working together (yay!), you receive a brand strategy workbook.
There we will dive in into the roots of your business:
Many female entrepreneurs and wellness practitioners find this step deeply reflective because it brings their inner world into awareness. We then jump into a strategy session to dive deep into your workbook.
3. The logo brief
Once your foundation is clear, we begin shaping visual direction.
This is where the face of your business starts to take form.
We explore:
Visual references, we create mood boards, colour palettes and the symbolism behind
Words, textures, and imagery
What does not feel aligned
This is where strategy begins to translate into visual language ☺
Going deeper
In my process, I don’t only listen to words. I also pay attention to energy.
With my background in energy healing and shamanism I hold space for what is unspoken. My neurodivergent mind allows me to perceive the world like a network—creating associations—seeing subtle connections and perceiving what may not be obvious.
Sometimes this means noticing patterns or blocks that influence how you show up as a healer, coach, or conscious entrepreneur.
This adds depth to branding for spiritual entrepreneurs ensuring alignment is both visual and energetic.
A final reminder: Strategy first, always
Many people want to go straight to visuals simply because we are used to that—easy, quick gratification, quick results.
The cool logo, the pretty website, the substantial Instagram feed. Some clients even want a website but they don’t have a logo yet or even guidelines! (please don’t!).
But without strategy, even the best conscious web design can feel disconnected or superficial.
A website is only a marketing tool.
A brand strategy is a foundation.
And branding for conscious entrepreneurs always begins inside first.
🌱 If you’re just starting
If you are at the beginning of your journey as a conscious entrepreneur, healer, or wellness practitioner—you are not behind.
You are simply in the foundation phase and this phase matters deeply. (Also, never forget that the universe has a plan and timing is always perfect).
